On June 21, 2024, the 6th Belt and Road International Advanced GI Endoscopology Seminar and the "‘Friendship’ Belt and Road International Endoscopy Academy by SonoScape concluded successfully at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University.

During the 7-day course, Beijing Friendship Hospital combined theory with practice, progressively carrying out "four-in-one" professional training to help trainees establish standardized surgical skills in digestive endoscopy, as well as a solid foundation for clinical diagnostic and treatment, allowing them to comprehensively improve their skills from diagnostic theory to practical application.
"Four-in-one": Expert Lectures + Surgical Observation + Animal Simulation Operation + Animal Ex Vivo Practice
1. Expert Lectures: The lectures cover the latest technologies and methods of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment, such as endoscopic ultrasound-guided pancreatic puncture, endoscopic treatment of duodenal papillary adenomas, and early diagnosis of gastrointestinal tract tumors. Through refined case-sharing and in-depth discussion sessions, trainees are able to master cutting-edge theoretical knowledge, enhance clinical thinking ability, and obtain valuable experience and insights for their actual medical practice.
2. Surgical Observation: Trainees will directly watch the endoscopic surgical process inside the operation room, including complex operations such as ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) and EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound). Experts will explain the surgical steps and precautions in detail during the surgery, allowing trainees to understand the specific operations of high-difficulty endoscopic surgery closely.
3. Animal Simulation Operation: Based on the theoretical knowledge in lectures, trainees practice endoscopic operations in a professional endoscopy simulation training room, repeatedly practicing skills such as endoscope insertion, operation, and lesion treatment, eventually mastering the basic skills of endoscopy operation.
4. Animal Ex Vivo Practice: During the training, trainees carry out ex vivo operation practice on animals to further enhance their practical operation ability. By performing endoscopic examinations and surgical operations on large animal models, trainees can experience a simulation close to real surgery, reinforcing their learned knowledge and skills.
